Date: November 25 , 2024 06:40:44 View ()

On the evening of November 17th, the two-day 2024 National Lacrosse Championship concluded in Dujiangyan, Chengdu. Over 400 athletes from 33 teams, hailing from cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Zhuhai, Heilongjiang, and Chengdu, competed in 53 intense matches. Our school's lacrosse team, representing Beijing, excelled with outstanding performance. The BNDS Paladins Sr. team won the U18 Men's Championship, while the BNDS Paladins Jr. team secured the runner-up spot in the same category. Additionally, the BNDS Paladins earned second place in the Women's division. Congratulations to all the participating players and coaches.

Additionally, the organizing committee honored students Zhang Kuancheng, Bao Jubei, and Jia Zhaorun with the title of Best Athletes.

The tournament followed six-player lacrosse rules. In the group stage, the BNDS Paladins Sr. team triumphed over their longstanding rivals, the Chengdu Jiaxiang Spartans team and the Chenghua Jiaxiang Excellence team. They then met the BNDS Paladins Jr. team in the finals, who had defeated the Heilongjiang Experimental Middle School team and the Maoxian Middle School Qiangshan Divine Colts team. The Sr. team outperformed in the final match, securing the championship, while the Jr. team earned the runner-up title. The women's team, BNDS Paladins, excelled in the first round of the round-robin and advanced to the finals, where they narrowly lost to the formidable Shanghai High School International Division team, earning them second place. This achievement marks the best result in the history of our school's women's team in this sport at the national level. Considering the Paladins were officially established for less than a month, this is an impressive and commendable feat. With one gold and two silver medals, our school has become the most decorated team at the National Championship, drawing significant attention.

Lacrosse is a competitive event at the 2025 Chengdu World Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The successful hosting of this tournament served as an important dress rehearsal for next year's World Games. Our school's 23 students fully experienced the development, popularity, and enthusiastic lacrosse atmosphere in the Chengdu area. Over the two-day competition, the students not only improved their lacrosse skills and tactics but, more importantly, adhered to the principle of striving to win while prioritizing friendship. They became more familiar with old friends and made many new ones. The unity, hard work, enthusiasm, responsibility, and good organizational discipline demonstrated by our students earned praise from the organizing committee and teachers and students from other schools.
